Amauri Coutinho

Graduated from the Agulhas Negras Military Academy and post graduated from the Army’s School of Physical Education, he commanded troops from North to South of Brazil.

A sports fan, he was Brazilian and South American military athletics champion. When the time came to abandon competition, he transferred the adrenaline from the tracks to long-term trekking and climbing in remote places.

He climbed and covered countless trails across South America and Europe and then headed for high mountains. After reaching the summit of Mount Aconcagua, he went on to greater challenges, being the last of them, guided and led an expedition in the Alps, conquering Mont Blanc in France.

He is currently the director of Latitude 51 and guides trekkers in South America, Europe and Oceania.

Graduated in Audio Production and Business in London, he lived outside Brazil for 5 years, where he discovered his passion for photography.

He currently guides and photographs Latitude 51’s trips and takes care of all digital aspects of the company.
